Reinsurance Broker, Vice President
Will focus on the Latin American and Caribbean markets using knowledge of international reinsurance regulations and purchase guidelines to develop and implement high-risk reinsurance coverage for Treaty clients including global industrial, commercial and personal line(s) programs. Negotiate terms and conditions with leading underwriters and clients and will be responsible for expanding and advancing business objectives of Treaty Reinsurance business in the United States, particularly as related to Latin American and Caribbean clients and their U.S. affiliates and counterparts. Deliver relevant insurance cross border industry trends and news of note to help advance client understanding and company business objectives. Apply risk assessment methodology to provide technical assessments of Insurance Company Capital and Protection Adequacy throughout the region and analyze risks and perform complex structuring of transfer and risk funding solutions for global reinsurance products. Review, prepare and run Catastrophe Loss Analysis using the AIR Clasic/2 Catastrophe Model as well as Dynamic Financial Analysis and review modeled outputs and factor the analysis into decision making and reinsurance structuring for client. Train staff Brokers to function effectively with incoming business from the Lloyd’s of London marketplace. Assemble reinsurance information, write insurance proposals and strategy documents, analyze plans and surveys, prepare slips and market and present information to underwriters on a proportional, layered or excess of loss basis. Place orders in Lloyd’s of London marketplace, the London market, as well as general overseas insurance and reinsurance markets. Calculate insurance figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
- Requirements: Six (6) years experience in job offered or six (6) years of reinsurance experience OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE, THE EMPLOYER WILL ACCEPT A Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or Finance AND Four (4) years experience in job offered or four (4) years of reinsurance experience
- Must have experience working with Lloyd’s of London market and reinsurance markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. Travel to Latin America and the Caribbean required.
